Every business should have clear, written disciplinary and grievance procedures.
The Acas Code of Practice provides a guide to creating and managing the right paperwork and processes. Note that this Code of Practice is legally binding. Failure to follow it could result in an increase of 25% in any award made against you by an employment tribunal.
So instead of 'guidance', think of the Code as the standard that your internal policies and procedures must reach.
Use this set of template letters on the Acas website to help you follow the correct disciplinary procedure.
