Every business should have clear, written disciplinary and grievance procedures.

The Acas Code of Practice provides a guide to creating and managing the right paperwork and processes. Note that this Code of Practice is legally binding. Failure to follow it could result in an increase of 25% in any award made against you by an employment tribunal.

So instead of 'guidance', think of the Code as the standard that your internal policies and procedures must reach.
