Search the bankruptcy and insolvency register


Both individuals and other limited companies can be a director, with a few exceptions. These include the company's auditor, people who have been disqualified from acting as a director by the courts, undischarged bankrupts (who would need permission from the court) and anyone under the age of 16.

Search the government's bankruptcy and insolvency register via the GOV.UK website. It includes details of the individual subject to restrictions, the period of restrictions, and details of the misconduct.
