Donut founder to share business tips at Sage World

Donut founder Rory MccGwire will be among the speakers at the Sage World event for start-ups and growing businesses at the International Centre in Telford on 8 and 9 September.

MccGwire will be taking his place alongside the likes of ‘the first woman of football’, Karen Brady, and King of Shaves founder Will King to share his thoughts on how small firms can set and meet realistic targets for growth.

Free to attend, the two-day event will be run by Start Up Donut sponsor Sage and cover all areas of businesses, from tips on how to best run a start-up to how calculated risk-taking can benefit your firm.

“Small businesses in the UK have been hit hard by the challenging economic climate so we wanted to set up an event where they could interact with some of the country’s leading business people and get answers to the questions they have,” said Brendan Flattery, managing director of Sage’s small business division.

Other speakers at the event will include a bomb disposal expert, an international poker player and Mark Palmer, the global brand director for Green & Black’s Organic.

“There are also a lot of skills that can be brought into business from other professions and our speakers will encourage everyone to look at their company and their challenges in a different light,” added Flattery.
