Swine flu - how are you handling the hype?

The swine flu blog post has been the most popular with viewers at Law Donut blog and we'd love you to share your experiences, hopes, fears, questions and answers on this subject. What preparations have you made, if any, for an outbreak of swine flu among your staff? Do you have advice that may be useful to other businesses on how you've handled staff absences? When swine flu threatened to leave us with insufficient staff to cover our services we devised a survey to find out which staff could identify themselves as 'vulnerable' under the terms of the advice from the HPA. This helps us to know which staff we can deploy in locations where there has been an outbreak of swine flu without putting vulnerable staff at risk.
So far we've been very lucky - out of 80 staff only 3 have had confirmed swine flu - no problems with peaks of absences - yet!
